Originally played by Ms. Dina Bonnevie and Christopher De Leon in the classic Pinoy movie, "Gumapang Ka Sa Lusak" now open with new faces! This generation's remake of the said hit movie will now be played by Jennylyn Mercado and Dennis Trillo!Joining them in the cast are the top villains now played by Al Tantay as the greedy-rapist Mayor and Ms. Sandy Andolong who took the role of the mayor's wicked wife!
"Gumapang Ka Sa Lusak" is a political drama which is all about the greedy and womanizer mayor of a certain town who will eventually fall to a poor lady in the character of Jennylyn. In the movie version, it was Eddie Garcia who played this role! His wicked wife inspired by the image of Ms. Imelda Marcos was played by Sandy Andolong!It was reported that it was Ariel Rivera who was supposed to play the mayor's role while Gelli De Belen is the wife! But since Ariel Rivera is too handsome to be a rappist, he was replaced by Al Tantay. Gelli on the other hand will star in the other program of GMA.
Back to the story, Jennylyn's role here is vengeful! After she had abused by the mayor, she will eventually turned into a powerful lady who will revenge to the mayor as well as to his wife who did bad things to her! On the other hand, Dennis Trillo is the love interest of Jennylyn who will merge with her to fight the evil mayor!
I remember this classic movie when I was in a grade school. I love the flow of the story and the character of Ms. Dina Bonnivie. I like the part when she made revenge! It such an action-tragic-drama story!
