One of Thalia's hit Mexiconovela "Maria La Del Barrio" was given a Filipino touch. This was her third TV series which was revived in the Philippines. And the Kapamilya versatile young actress Erich Gonzales portrayed the said character!
Since three actresses already portrayed the so-called "Queen of Telenovela," TV Series Craze conducted an online poll survey comparing the actresses Marian Rivera, Carla Abellana, and Erich Gonzales. The poll wants to get the views of the people of who among them perfectly portrays Thalia in a TV series. And most of them voted for no other than Ms. Erich Gonzales!
Here is the final and official result of the poll:
Erich Gonzales got a whooping 63% overall total votes defeating Marian Rivera and Carla Abellana who only grabbed 27% and 9% overall total votes respectively.Erich Gonzales is the third Filipino actress who gave life to the character of Thalia in a TV series. It was Marian Rivera who first portrayed Thalia in a TV series through the remake of "Marimar" in 2007. Afterwards in 2009, Carla Abellana played "Rosalinda."
The remake of "Maria La Del Barrio" becomes another hit. It was supposed to be ended in November 2011 but due to insisted public demand and high TV ratings got by the drama series, "Maria La Del Barrio" was extended until the first week of March 2012! And it was just recently concluded last Friday!
Erich's successful onscreen partner Enchong Dee played the character of Maria's love interest Luis Fernando Dela Vega!
