Several weeks ago, kapuso teen actress Joyce Ching shocked viewers when she agreed to do a daring role in an episode of the drama anthology program “Magpakailanman” entitled “Pakawalang Anghel.” While the episode’s high ratings could mean that Joyce’s fans are now ready to accept the actress’ new image, could it also mean that it’s alright with Joyce’s rumored boyfriend, teen actor Kristoffer Martin?
In an interview with Kristoffer on the set of the primetime series, “Pahiram ng Sandali” where he stars, the young actor said that although he had reservations when Joyce informed him about the role, he did not try to convince her to reconsider her decision. In fact, he said, he assured her of his all-out support.
“Wala naman din akong karapatang pigilan siya kasi trabaho naman ‘yon. At malaki naman ang tiwala ko na hindi naman siya pababayaan ng show,” said Kristoffer.
Kristoffer also belied rumors that he was anxious when fellow teen actor Ken Chan was initially drafted by the show’s producers to be Joyce’s leading man in the episode. According to sources close to Kristoffer and Joyce, Kristoffer was uneasy with the idea because Ken Chan is Chinese (and so is Joyce Ching). Fortunately for Kristoffer, it was not Ken Chan but another kapuso teen actor, TJ Marquez, who ended up as Joyce’s leading man.
When asked about the issue, Kristoffer simply laughed it off. He said that he is very much secure with Joyce Ching and that Ken Chan was never a threat to whatever relationship Joyce and Kristoffer has.
In the primetime series “Pahiram ng Sandali,” Kristoffer is being paired with Diva Montelaba. Although Kristoffer and Diva had several kissing scenes in the series, Kristoffer said it was never an issue for Joyce. Diva is rumored to be in a relationship with kapuso actor Steven Silva and she is also a very close friend of Joyce’s.
Meanwhile, as “Pahiram ng Sandali” top-billed by Lorna Tolentino, Dingdong Dantes, Christopher de Leon and Max Collins nears the end of its run, the remaining weeks promise to be more thrilling and engaging – with one major character having to face death sooner than expected. Can you guess who?
