Several Kapuso artists brought pride and honor to GMA Network after being proclaimed as big winners in this year’s 61st Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) Awards held last Sunday, April 21, at the AFP Theater.
Veteran TV host and star-builder German “Kuya Germs” Moreno received the Special Recognition Award for his 50th year in Philippine Cinema. The Master Showman’s remarkable contributions during his five decades in the entertainment industry will be celebrated with a grand TV special featuring the brightest and hottest personalities from radio, television, and the movies on Wednesday at the Newport Performing Arts Theater, Resorts World Manila.
Seasoned actress Jaclyn Jose received the Best Supporting Actress Award for her performance in the 2012 romance-drama film, A Secret Affair. Jacklyn is currently part of the primetime series Mundo Mo’y Akin.
GMA Artist Center’s fast-rising talents Joyce Ching and Ruru Madrid both received the German Moreno Youth Achievement Award. These two young stars are regular mainstays of Party Pilipinas.
