After news reports on Wednesday (June 19) revealed a "misunderstanding" between Regal Films matriarch Mother Lily Monteverde and Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera, which had something to do with Regal's non-participation in this year's Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), the two patched things up on Thursday, June 20, at the press conference of Marian's upcoming movie with Richard Gutierrez, "My Lady Boss."
In an interview, Marian said that she has a lot to thank Monteverde for and that without her support and help, she (Marian) would not have become the star that she is today. She maintained that whatever happened between her and the producer was just a "misunderstanding."
Later in the press conference Monteverde arrived and Marian welcomed her with a tight hug which lightened up the tensed atmosphere.
Monteverde explained that her statements that were quoted in the news items were made out of disappointment over Regal's absence in the said festival. Regal usually had at least one solely produced entry in the MMFF in the past years. Despite all that has been said, Monteverde still considers Marian as one of her "daughters" in the industry.
Monteverde owns Regal Films, which is a co-producer of GMA Films for "My Lady Boss."
"My Lady Boss" is scheduled to screen in nationwide cinemas beginning July 3, 2013. (www.tvseriescraze.blogspot.com)
