An Explosive Finale of "Pangako Sa'yo" This February 12!

Two lovers’ ultimate promise of love to each will face its final test as the iconic teleserye “Pangako Sa ‘Yo” led by Asia’s emerging love team, Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, draws to a close this week.

Culminating on February 12, the retelling of the classic Filipino love story has garnered praises and successes since it started airing in May 2015.

One of these is its enormous impact on the careers of Kathryn and Daniel, further sealing their positions as Philippine showbiz’s Teen Queen and King.

“This project is a stepping for me and DJ (Daniel) to be more open to mature roles. This is the perfect project because it’s been tried and tested, you can see that we have really grown here. And that’s the goal – to show a different side of us,” said Kathryn, who portrays Yna in the series.

Daniel, meanwhile, cannot help but reminisce the scene he considers the most memorable from “Pangako.” “That trailer where we were running on a hill, that is memorable to me, because everything started there. We felt at that time that this was it. It’s a legendary scene. It’s an honor for us,” shared Daniel.

But aside from the undeniable impact of Kathryn and Daniel’s team-up is the unexpected love team of Jodi and Ian known as “AmorAdo,” which added spice to the series.

In fact, Jodi and Ian have gained their own solid following after fans noticed their undeniable chemistry on-screen.

The remake also made a mark in terms of acting, as Jodi and Angelica Panganiban reprised the notable roles of Amor Powers and Claudia Buenavista. Like in the first “Pangako,” the two Kapamilya actresses did not disappoint in conveying the humanity, pain, and toughness of their respective characters.

In the last few days of “Pangako Sa ‘Yo,” Amor (Jodi Sta. Maria) and Eduardo (Ian Veneracion) finally found out that Yna is their long lost daughter Maria Amor, despite Claudia’s efforts to hide the truth from them.

But following this revelation is the realization that Yna and Angelo (Daniel) are half-siblings, who recently vowed to love each other forever by tying the knot.

How will this affect Yna and Angelo’s promise of love? How will they discover that Angelo’s real father is Simon (Alex Medina) and not Eduardo? Will Claudia be still able to destroy Amor and Eduardo’s happiness?

Since it premiered last year, “Pangako Sa ‘Yo” has consistently recorded high TV ratings and beat its rival program, according to data from Kantar Media.

In fact, it got its all-time high national TV rating of 40.6% last Tuesday (Feb 2), where Amor and Eduardo were seen leading closer to the truth about their daughter Maria Amor.

“Pangako Sa ‘Yo” also was also trailblazing online as it is the first-ever teleserye in the country to generate 1 million tweets on Twitter last June 2015 with its “Batas ng Alipin” episode. Aside from that, it was also the most searched TV series in the country, according to search engine Google.

As the program continued to reach new heights, Kathryn and Daniel’s achievements also kept coming. During the show’s run, Kathryn and Daniel, received numerous awards from different award-giving bodies, such as Vietnam’s Face of the Year Awards, LionHearTV’s RAWR Awards, PUSH Awards, ASAP Pop Teen Awards, and ALTA Awards.

The show also produced best-selling merchandise. Proving the popularity of the series are its jam-packed mall shows and “Thanksgiving Day” legs in the country and in the United States.
