"Tubig at Langis" is led by the Kapamilya sexy stars Cristine Reyes, Zanjoe Marudo, Isabelle Daza, and Victor Silayan. The story specially the heavy catfights of Reyes and Daza playing the characters of Irene and Clara fighting over Natoy's (Marudo) love were always trending topics in social media. It even conquered the daytime TV ratings race beating the rival TV programs from the other networks.

In the nationwide TV ratings of Kantar Media, the series registered a TV rating of 13.7% on its pilot episode, 21.6% on its finale which was also its all-time high nationwide TV rating! The teleserye scored an 18.9% average TV rating.
