In today's modern world where technology is highly in-demand, opportunities to shine as a bright star were not only given to TV or movie personalities. But more likely, they rose from digital or social media.
This is true to the currently airing digital series 'Roommate.' The series which is airing on Facebook gives rise to the fresh new love team known as JhasDrick or the tandem of the young newcomers Jhassy Busran and Heindrick Sitjar. Heindrick even though a new comer portrays a challenging role of a young student having a mental illness. Jhassy who is his love interest in the series plays an ideal girl next-door.
Inline with the success of the series, a grand mediacon and press preview was conducted Saturday night of February 4, 2023 at the Luxent Hotel in Quezon City. It was a jam-packed event as most of the media - the press people, bloggers, digital content creators, and influencers graced the event together with the full cast of the series!
Before the event's media conference, a press preview took place where the Episode 9, the last episode of this 8-part series was shown to the media. Positive reactions and feedback were gained by the series from the viewers afterwards.
During the Q&A proper, JhasDrick answered juicy questions from the media such as the love team they want to be look like in the future. The two honestly responded that they want to be like KathNiel, the love team of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla since they idolized these two. They also shared behind-the-scene stories while filming the series and the challenges they encountered on the set.
Aside from Jhassy and Heindrick, also part of the main cast are other newbies Earnest Beaver Magtalas and MJ Manuel. Earnest who is playing the alter-ego of Heindrick in the story is a talent of ABS-CBN Starhunt. On the other hand, MJ who is playing the friend of Heindrick is a freelance actor but is currently seen in most of the GMA Network's comedy programs like 'Bubble Gang' and 'Pepito Manaloto.' While Earnest Beaver is teased to Mutya Orquia (Trisha of Jane De Leon's 'Darna,'), MJ on the other hand revealed that he wants to work with Francine Diaz in the future!
Meanwhile, the digital series' director Gabby Ramos shared interesting facts about their series. One of these is the reason why the series' title is 'Roommate' without the letter 's.' He also revealed why the series is airing or streaming on Facebook instead of the other streaming app like YouTube. Will there also be a chance that this digital series be aired on iWantTFC or Viva Prime?
