Known now as Big Bert in the current hit GMA Primetime's action-fantasy series 'Voltes V: Legacy," singer, song-writer, and actor Matt Lozano now returns on the music scene. This time, he released a new single, a song which he personally wrote called 'Liham.'
Did you know that Matt wrote this song in just 15 minutes?! Yes, during our face-to-face media conference held at Asian Pandan Cafe, Thursday night of May 18, 2023, Matt shared exciting stories about this song.
According to him during our interview, “This is a 15-minute music making. Talagang galing siya sa puso ko. Kung anong lumabas na letra hinayaan ko lang ‘yung sarili ko. Sa 15 minutes na pagsusulat na ‘yon kasama na doon ‘yung melody. Actually meron akong ipapasang kanta kay Paulo Agudelo pero after ko masulat ito nang biglaan, pinauna ko ‘to kasi gusto kong i-release itong song na mas dama ‘yung emosyon. Napaka-raw ng kantang ito.”
'Liham' is actually Matt's third single which he personally penned following the success of 'Walang Pipigil' and 'Kwarto.' These three songs were mostly hugot songs or mostly for the hopeless romantic persons. But according to Matt, 'Liham' is a a poignant song about moving on and finding happiness again after a difficult situation.

Matt also added: “May dalawa akong single na nirelease– last year and two years ago tapos ngayon may bagong single na naman kaya sobrang happy and excited ako na maiparinig ang bago kong likha. Masasabi ko rin na lahat ng pangarap ko, unti-unti ko na ngayong nakakamit."
But which is easier for Matt to write or compose a song - when he is brokenhearted or when he is happy? What inspires him to write a song?
“Ang dami nga nagtatanong sa akin as a songwriter kung paano daw ‘yung process ko sa pagsusulat. Iba-iba eh. May isang kanta na one year bago ko matapos kasi wala akong nararamdaman na emosyon that time. Siguro mabilis ka talagang makakapagsulat kung meron kang bagahe na bitbit,” Matt explained.
Moreover, Matt shared: “Gusto ko medyo friendly sa masa yung tunog natin ngayon para mas maramdaman nila ‘yung emosyon ng kinakanta ko. Gusto ko rin maging very OPM ‘yung tunog para maka-relate talaga ‘yung mga tao. Alam naman ng lahat na I’m a John Mayer fan and yung single ko na Kwarto is based sa John Mayer feels na paggawa ng kanta but this time I want it to be very personal."
Meanwhile when asked if who's artist Matt wants to collaborate in the future, he said Crystal Paras since he is already closed with the singer-actress.
